Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how MTIVI LLC (“MTIVI”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the mtivi application and related services (the “Services”). By using our products and services, you agree to this Policy.
Information we process
We process information necessary to provide, secure, operate, and improve our Services, to manage accounts and purchases, and to meet our legal obligations. The information we process depends on how you use the Services:
- Account information, such as your email address, when you create an account.
- Device identifiers, IP address, and basic technical information used to link a device to your account, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.
- Playlist configuration, including any access credentials for your source and any third-party keys you add. We store this to deliver the Services to your linked devices. You can edit or delete it at any time.
- App activity and preferences, such as favorites, watch progress, collections, and settings, where cloud sync is enabled.
- Diagnostics and crash information, including basic device and app performance data. We do not use advertising or tracking analytics.
- Transaction records relating to purchases. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
How we use information
We use information to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services, to manage accounts and purchases, and for other purposes described in this Policy or permitted by law. This may include using the information you provide or generate through the Services, such as your playlists, settings, and preferences, and how you use our features, to understand and improve how the Services perform. We also use information, including in aggregated or de-identified form, to develop, improve, and support our Services. Aggregated or de-identified information does not identify you.
Subtitles and translation
Speech recognition and on-device translation run entirely on your device. Audio is never uploaded, and subtitles produced this way are not sent to us or to anyone else. If you choose to use cloud AI translation, subtitle text from the title you are playing is sent to a translation provider to produce the translation.
Third parties
We may share information with service providers that process it on our behalf, and where required by law or to protect our rights. These providers support functions such as payment processing, crash diagnostics, AI translation, artwork and metadata, and hosting. We do not sell your personal information.
We may also share or license information in aggregated or de-identified form. This information does not identify you and cannot reasonably be linked back to you or your devices.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the sources and materials you choose to use with our Services and for your use of them.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business and legal purposes.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and the data associated with it at any time. See mtivi.app/delete-account for how to request it and what is removed.
Aggregated and de-identified information does not identify you and is retained after your account is deleted.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International transfers
As we operate globally, information may be processed in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards where required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as to access, correct, or delete it, or to object to certain processing. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@mtivi.app.
Children
Our Services are not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
