A scheduled recording did not start
Android drops alarms on some devices. The Planner spots it and offers a one-tap repair.
A scheduled recording depends on the device waking itself at the right moment. Some Android boxes, especially aggressive power-saving ones, drop those wake-ups.
The repair button
When mtivi notices that a pending recording has lost its alarm, the Planner shows a notice saying some recordings cannot start, with a Fix action. One tap rebuilds the schedule. The notice only appears when there is something real to fix.
Stopping it happening again
- Exclude mtivi from battery optimization
In your device’s own settings, under apps and battery.
- Allow it to run in the background
Some boxes have a separate autostart or background permission list.
- Leave the box on standby rather than unplugged
A device with no power cannot record. Standby is enough.
Check the Planner’s Activity list after a missed recording. It says whether the run failed, ended early or never started, which is the difference between a device problem and a source problem.
It started and failed
That is a different problem: the source dropped, the playlist hit its connection limit, or storage filled. See Recording limits and conflicts.
