What mtivi does when a sync comes back empty, and how to get your list back.
A sync that returns nothing is not proof your channels are gone, and mtivi treats it that way.
What the app does
When a refresh returns an empty list, mtivi keeps what it already had rather than replacing it with nothing, and it tells you the sync came back empty. An empty answer never wipes a working list.
Why a list really does shrink

| Your service changed the playlist | Categories get renamed and rebuilt often. Check All Channels before assuming anything is missing. |
| The subscription lapsed | A dead playlist returns nothing. See Login rejected or expired. |
| You are in a profile | Kids and Private only show what was moved into them. Long-press the Live TV tab to leave Kids. |
| Things are hidden | Open Control Center under Settings: every hidden channel and category is listed, with a reset. |
| A sync was interrupted | The app says so after the sync. Refresh again on a stable connection. |
A portal catalog that looks short
Portals hand over their catalog in pieces and mtivi fills it in as you browse. That is expected: Why a portal catalog fills in while you browse.
Read the playlist after a sync. mtivi names exactly what failed, for example the guide, or movies, or a portal returning nothing. That sentence is usually the whole diagnosis.
