Skip to content Recording when your playlist only allows one stream
The category's most common complaint, handled properly: mtivi tells you what is about to clash and lets you decide, instead of stealing the screen.
Most playlists allow one or two streams at a time. On other players that makes recording a lottery: a capture starts, your channel dies, and nobody told you why.
What mtivi does instead
When a scheduled recording is about to collide with what you are watching, mtivi says so before it happens. It names the recording, says how long you have, and offers the choice:
- Keep watching, and skip this one occurrence.
- Skip only today, and keep the rest of the series.
- Stop the recording.
- Switch over to the channel it wants to record.
A repeat recording is never canceled by accident. Skipping one showing leaves the schedule intact, and the dialog tells you so while you decide.
Set the capacity once
Settings, then Recording, sets how many captures may run at the same time. Set it to one on a playlist that allows one stream and the clashes stop happening at all. The Planner shows the current figure so you always know what the device will attempt.

The count is recordings kept, not recordings ever made. Delete one and the slot frees immediately, and everything already captured stays playable whatever happens to your plan.
A recording that ended early
The Planner records the outcome of every run: saved, ended early, failed or canceled, with how much was captured. An early end is usually the source dropping or the drive filling.
