Use it
- Start the channel or film and open the subtitle picker
- Say where the words should come from
An existing subtitle track, a file you loaded, or subtitles generated from the audio. mtivi asks every time rather than guessing, because the right source changes from title to title.
- Pick the language you want to read
Translation starts, and on live TV it keeps pace with the broadcast.
Nothing leaves the device with on-device translation. It works on a plane, on a hotel connection, and on a playlist your internet provider throttles.
What cannot be translated
Picture-based subtitles, because there is no text in them. A channel with no subtitles and no generated captions, because there is nothing to translate from. Start with generated subtitles in that case.
The AI allowance
