mtivi syncs the active playlist into Android TV’s own Live TV input, so your channels appear where the TV expects channels to be: in the system tuner, with the TV’s own guide and channel up and down.
- Add a playlist in mtivi first
There is nothing to scan until there is one.
- Open the TV’s Live TV app and scan for channels
Pick mtivi as the source. It syncs your active playlist and tells you when the channels are ready.
- Re-scan after you change playlists
The scan follows whichever playlist is active in mtivi.
Your titles on the home screen
mtivi also publishes rows to the Android TV home screen, so the things you were watching are one click from the launcher:
- Continue Watching — titles you started recently, resuming where you stopped.
- Recommended Movies — drawn from your own catalog and your recent picks.
- Fresh Series — shows your playlist updated lately.
Why this is free. It plays content you already pay someone else for, on hardware you already own. Gating it would only make the TV worse, so it runs on every plan including Free.
If the scan finds nothing
Check that mtivi has an active playlist with channels in it, then run the scan again. The setup screen names the source it is syncing, so you can see which playlist it took.
