Send what you are watching to a Chromecast or a DLNA screen, and what to do when a channel refuses to go.
mtivi can hand playback to another screen in the house, either by Google Cast or by DLNA.
Send it
- Open the Cast page or the cast control in the player
Send and receive sit side by side, with a radar that finds devices on your network.
- Pick the target screen
Chromecast devices and DLNA screens both appear.
- Play
Your phone or TV becomes the remote.
When a channel will not cast
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| The target cannot play that format | A Chromecast is a small device with its own limits. Try a different channel to confirm. |
| The stream needs a license | Protected streams cannot be handed to another device. |
| Different networks | The two devices must be on the same network. Guest wifi is a separate network. |
| Your playlist allows one stream | Casting is still a stream. Close playback on the first device. |
Portal channels are the hardest case. A portal hands out links tied to a session, and not every target screen can use them. If a portal channel refuses, play it on the TV directly.
