mtivi has its own file picker, so a playlist file works even on TV boxes with no file manager.
If your list came as a file rather than a link, mtivi can open it straight from the device. Our own picker is built in, so this works on TV boxes that have no file manager at all.
Load the file
- Copy the file to the device
Internal storage, a USB stick or an SD card all work. Keep the .m3u or .m3u8 ending.
- Settings, then Playlists, then Add Playlists
Choose the M3U Playlist tab, then the option to select a file.
- Pick the file
mtivi scans every storage volume it can see, so a stick plugged into the box shows up beside internal storage.
Nothing is listed
The picker only lists playlist files. If it says none were found, the file is either somewhere it cannot reach, or it does not end in .m3u or .m3u8. Rename it and try again, or use the M3U link option instead.
A file is a snapshot. A file list never updates itself. When your service changes channels you have to copy a new file across. A link stays current on its own, which is why it is the better choice when you have one.
Moving a file to a TV box
The simplest route is a USB stick. Otherwise, any file transfer app that puts the file into the box’s Download folder will do, and mtivi’s picker will find it there.
