Keep playlists, favorites and progress in sync across devices

What syncs between your devices, when it happens, and why there is no switch to turn on.

Two TVs on one account should not need setting up twice. Cloud sync carries your setup between the devices on your mtivi account.

What travels

Playlists, so a playlist added on one device appears on the other.
Favorites, pins, locks and hidden items.
Your own collections and the order you put things in.
Watched state and where you stopped in a film or an episode.
App settings you have changed.

There is nothing to switch on

Sync runs by itself while the app is open, a little after each change rather than instantly, so a burst of edits travels as one update. There is no toggle to find, and nothing to press.

What it needs

Requirement	Why
Both devices linked to the same account	Sync follows the account, not the network. See Add a second device.
A plan that includes it	Cloud sync is part of the paid plans. A device that is not entitled keeps working normally, it simply does not share state.
Internet on both	Changes made offline are queued and sent the next time the device is online.

Recordings and downloads do not sync. They are files on one device, sometimes many gigabytes of them. Everything else about your setup does.

If a device is not picking things up

Check it is linked to the right account, that it has internet, and reopen the app so a fresh sync runs. A local backup is the way to carry a setup onto a device that is not on your account: Export a backup and restore it.
